When installing hard disk, jumpers should be set and make one of the disks as the maser disk and the other as standby. And it can not be hot inserted or pulled. If you need to replace the disk, you should shut down the machine.

Check whether the video signal of video server is normal or not.

Check HD Status, it should be normal, if not than try formatting it, still if problem not solved than, check whether the HD is Compatible With the DVR (Must be surveillance HD, check online www.hikvisionindia.co.in for the list of compatible HD for Hikvision DVR), if using the compatible HD than check for the Bad sectors in the HD inside Menu > Maintenance > HDD > Bad Sector Detection > select the HD no. > Click Test > if Red Area shown than the HD is facing some problem need to be replaced.

Go to Menu page through GUI > Configuration > Exception > Exception type > select All > Remove the teak [√] > Apply.

  • Enter the Live View Settings interface. Menu > Configuration > Live View

  • Select the Channel-Zero Encoding tab.

  • Check the checkbox after Enable Channel Zero Encoding.

  • Configure the Frame Rate, Max. Bitrate Mode and Max. Bitrate.

After you set the Channel-Zero encoding, you can get a view in the remote client or web browser of multi-channels in one screen

  • Enter the Network Settings interface. Menu >Configuration> Network
  • Select the More Settings tab to enter the More Settings interface.
  • Set Multicast IP, when adding a device to the Network Video Surveillance Software, the multicast address must be the same as the NVR’s multicast IP.
  • Click the Apply button to save and exit the interface.

Note: The multicast function should be supported by the network switch to which the NVR is connected.

In other words, access capacity is maximum incoming bandwidth limitation for the device. For example, the maximum incoming bandwidth of DS-9664NI-I8 is 320Mbps, means the actual total incoming bandwidth (main stream + sub steam) must be less than or equal to 320 Mbps.

Take DS-9664NI-I8 for example, the maximum incoming channel number is 64, the maximum incoming bandwidth is 320Mbps.

If IPC main stream is 4Mbps and sub stream is 1Mbps

320Mbps/64 = 5Mbps = main stream + sub stream, so in the case that main stream = 4Mbps and sub stream = 1Mbps, the NVR is accessible for 64 channels.

If IPC main stream is 6Mbps and sub stream is 2Mbps

320Mbps/ (6Mbps + 2Mbps) = 40, so in the case that main stream = 6Mbps and sub stream = 2Mbps, the NVR is accessible for 40 channels only.
